South Norfolk Council is the local government authority for communities from the border with Suffolk to the south up to the outskirts of Norwich. We initially worked with the Council by staging an innovative event at the Royal Norfolk Show in 2014 aimed at highlighting awareness of the local area and its leisure facilities.
Visitors were encouraged to take a ‘virtual tour’ of one of the four market towns in the district using exercise bikes. With the aid of 'green screen' chromakey video technology, Splice Creative was able to ‘transport’ them to a live cycle ride in Diss, Harleston, Wymondham or Loddon.
For smaller children, we set up a similar experience where they could fish in Diss Mere, work on a market stall in Harleston, ride a Lotus through Wymondham or take a boat on the Broads near Loddon. The experience was well received by visitors and repeated at the South Norfolk on Show event in 2015.
Splice Creative has also been working with the Council to develop visitor attraction websites for their market towns, a project which is currently in development.
