Breckland Council is the local authority covering the district of Breckland in Norfolk including the towns of Dereham, Thetford, Watton, Swaffham, and Attleborough. They asked Splice Creative to create a video to promote their innovative new virtual reality tourism app, Breckworld.
The brief was to give potential users a short 30 second flavour of the app and drive viewers to download it and give it a try.
The video, featuring the voice of Stephen Fry, was a great success and combined with some effective marketing by the council, quickly resulted in tens of thousands of YouTube views and the app appearing in the top 150 global download charts.
We also provided the council with a longer form video for their own marketing purposes to give more information about the idea behind it, how it benefits local tourism and show the effectiveness of the app to key stakeholders and reinforce ROI.
